Yes, poorly written applications or faulty hardware can cause crashes. If it happens on a Microsoft OS, then it must be Microsoft's poor quality products. If it happens on Linux.... well, programs never crash in Linux, but if they did then it would be the fault of the user or program authors. Could you be any more predictable?
